Joe Blanton still has a starting job with the Angels despite an awful start to the season. He is 0-7 with a 6.62 ERA in nine starts with six of those games going Over the total. The righty has allowed 14 runs and 31 hits in his last three starts and he was already shelled by the Royals this month. He gave up 7 runs and 12 hits in just over four innings back on May 13th. Kansas City hitters are a combined 26-for-64 (.406) versus Blanton. The Royals are scoring nearly 5 runs per game against right-handed starters. The Angels’ bullpen is just 7-7 with a 4.44 ERA and 6 blown saves in 15 chances this season.

Cracks are beginning to show on Ervin Santana who has lost two straight starts and he has a 4.19 ERA over his last three outings. He's facing his old team which is swinging a hot bat as a unit. The Angels have scored 6 runs or more in four straight games and they’ve gone Over the total in six of their last nine games. The Orioles hit the road as they take on the Blue Jays in Toronto on Thursday night. It's the first Major League start for Kevin Gausman who Baltimore fans are hoping to see big things from. Gausman was 2-4 with a 3.11 ERA in eight starts in AAA. He showed amazing control striking out 49 while walking only five. Gausman has been strong against both sides of the plate allowing righties to hit .242 while lefties hit .250. He was even better with runners in scoring position allowing batters to hit just .158 in those situations. He will face a Toronto team that is hitting just .234 against right-handed starters and .229 in night games. The Orioles’ bullpen is 4-2 with a 3.03 ERA on the road converting 10 of 13 save chances.

Brandon Morrow is 1-3 with a 5.16 ERA in eight starts, but he was pitching with an injury. Morrow is back to health now and he gave up 3 runs and four hits when he faced the Orioles back on April 24th. Chris Davis (2-14), Manny Machado (1-7), Nate McLouth (1-7) and Matt Wieters (2-18) have poor numbers versus the Blue Jays’ starter. The Toronto bullpen picked up a win on Wednesday and they are now 4-4 at home converting four of five save chances. These two teams have played two Unders in their three games this season, and we expect another low-scoring game between the Orioles and Blue Jays on Thursday night.
