The Pac Ten Basketball tournament 2010 is currently taking place in Los Angeles, California at the Staples Center. This conference tournament is similar to the Big East, ACC, and Big 12 tournament. The winner just like in the other tournaments gets an automatic admittance to the NCAA tournament. All of the other teams will have to wait for selection Sunday to see if they are one of the 65 teams to move on.

The Pac Ten tournament 2010 features some of the best teams in the NCAA. As the name would suggest 10 teams are in this division, however in this tournament only 9 teams will be participating as the University of Southern California(USC) was banned as a result of self imposed sanctions stemming from some accusations of a player receiving improper benefits allegedly totaling $1000. USC is the defending champion of the Pac Ten division. The finals of the Pac Ten Basketball Tournament 2010 will be taking place on Saturday March 13, 2010.

Last night was the first round of the Pac Ten Basketball tournament 2010. Number 9 ranked Washington State took on number 8th ranked Oregon, with Oregon coming out on top 82-80.  Oregon was not so lucky today as they lost to California 90-74. Three other games are on the schedule for today, Arizona lost to UCLA 75-69, while Stanford and Arizona State along with Oregon St and Washington are still to be played. Look for the number one ranked team California to win the Pac Ten Basketball Tournament 2010.

Maake Kemoeatu, the defensive tackle that became a free agent after spending a season with the Carolina Panthers on the injured reserve list is going to the Washington Redskins. He had torn his Achilles tendon while participating in last year’s training camp. He has signed a two-year deal that is worth $6.975 million. His agent has said that the Achilles is healing nicely, and that Maake is able to walk as well as jog, but cannot run as of yet.

  He does anticipate that Maake Kemoeatu should be ready for spring training camp and is involved in physical therapy. Maake is the brother of Chris Kemoeatu, the offensive lineman from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Maake has played in 107 games and has had 61 starts for the Panthers and the Baltimore Ravens. He also has 291 tackles and has been involved in four sacks. In addition to the contract there are other bonuses set up that will enable him to earn additional money.

It is certainly a risk that the Redskins have signed Maake Kemoeatu.  However it seems as though they believe in him and want to be a part of his success with the team. In other news, running back LaDainian Tomlinson will be going to Minnesota to discuss options with the Vikings. The San Diego Chargers recently released him, and it is assumed that he would back up the Vikings All-Pro running back, Adrian Peterson. There is no word yet as to whether or not he will be offered a contract with the Minnesota Vikings or if he would accept such a contract.

The ACC Tournament Schedule 2010 began today with the bottom seeds playing. The top four seeds, which include Duke, Virginia Tech, Maryland and Florida State, will begin playing on Friday. The tournament is being held in Greensboro North Carolina, and the first two games are already underway. Thursday night, we will see Georgia Tech playing North Carolina and Clemson going up against North Carolina State.

Boston College fell to Virginia by a score of 68-62. Sammy Zeglinski of Virginia scored 21 points, had 3 rebounds and two assists in the win. Reggie Jackson scored 18 points, 9 rebounds and had 3 assists for Boston in their unsuccessful bid to continue in the ACC Tournament Schedule 2010. Wake Forest will be playing Miami this afternoon. A win tonight for Clemson may give them the outside chance of making the final 65 teams going to the NCAA tournament. They have won the last six of their nine games, and also beat the strong Maryland team.

Everyone will be watching to see what the final pair ups are between the top four seeds. We already know that Virginia will be moving on to the ACC Tournament Schedule 2010 quarterfinals and will be playing Duke tomorrow. It is anticipated that as many as 7 teams from the ACC will manage to get a spot in the NCAA tournament. Wins for any of these teams will be very important to secure a spot as well as to obtain better positioning as the brackets are determined. It is indeed an exciting week as these tournaments look to conclude over the upcoming weekend.

The Wildcats are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games after a loss and they are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 neutral site games.

The Hoosiers are just 3-11 ATS in their last 14 games against Northwestern and Indiana is just 2-9 ATS in their last 11 tournament games. The Wildcats are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games off a loss against a conference rival and the Hoosiers have been out-scored by an average of 12.5 ppg on the road this season. In the initial days of the free agency chaos, Jarvis Green sat back and waited until he heard from Denver. The 31 year old defensive end from the New England Patriots has agreed to a four year deal with the Broncos. The deal is worth $20 million and will guarantee him $7.5 million during the next two years. He has been with the Patriots for the past eight seasons. He is known as an interior rusher especially during pass plays. Green has 28 sacks and 233 tackles with the New England team.

Jarvis Green was mostly used as a backup for Richard Seymour until he took over for Seymour after he was traded to the Oakland Raiders in 2009. His most notable game is perhaps the 2003 AFC title game when he was able to sack Peyton Manning twice. He is the last of three players, which played during the Super Bowl era for the Patriots. While at Denver, he will be able to play with former teammates Jabar Gaffney, Daniel Graham, Russ Hochstein and Lonnie Paxton.

Jarvis Green was plagued by injuries during the 2008 season suffering from ankle issues. Last season, he was plaqued by the injuries and only played in 13 games and started 12. He did miss three games in November, after having knee surgery performed. He was able to get 36 tackles and one sack even with the short amount of time that he played. The New England Patriots have reached a deal with Marques Murrell, the previous New York Jets defensive end. This will hopefully begin to fill the gap in their defensive unit. They will probably have to look toward the upcoming draft in order to find additional defensive players.
