Brooke Hundley: Lawsuit Against ESPN

Brooke Hundley worked for ESPN and had an affair with broadcaster Steve Phillips, that seems to be on issue that both parties agree on. Now, she has filed a suit against the network indicating that they defamed her. She stands firm that was fired based on false statements by Phillips.  The network states that Hundley didn’t cooperate in the investigation although she stands firm that she did what she needed to do during the investigation.

Hundley is a sprite 23-year-old who had been hired by ESPN in 2008 for $10.96 an hour. According to Brooke Hundley, Phillips led the authorities to believe that she was a danger to his family and himself. He continues to state that he was an innocent victim. She says that she only approached his wife in an attempt to put a stop to the harassment.

This story is extremely confusing as Phillips continues to say he is innocent and that Brooke Hundley was the one that was dangerous. She originally accused ESPN of trying to protect Phillips and is now seeking more than $15,000 in damages. She had filed a complaint against Philips with the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities because she felt she was being fired for reporting the sexual harassment in the first place. Now both are left with damaged careers and that’s precisely why Hundley is suing the network.
