NBA Betting – Suns Aim To Turn Fortunes Around In San Antonio

NBA playoff betting players are well aware of the problems that Phoenix has had with San Antonio in the postseason, but the Suns got off to a great start by protection their home court over the first two games of their second-round series.  Now, they’ll have to take that form on the road in San Antonio, where they have had their share of troubles lately.

Spurs Suns Online Betting – Friday, May 7, 9:30 PM ET

The Suns got off to a slow start, but caught fire in the second quarter and never looked back in a 110-102 win in Game 2.  Amare Stoudamire was one of seven Phoenix players in double figures with 23 points, and he also added 13 rebounds as the Suns held a 49-37 edge on the glass, including an outrageous 18-7 rebounding advantage on the offensive end.  Steve Nash and Jason Richardson had 19 points apiece, while Grant Hill bounced from a poor Game 1 performance with 18 points for the Suns, who went 29-of-37 from the foul line.

On the other hand, the Spurs were 15-of-22 from the charity stripe, which combined with their poor rebounding to doom San Antonio.  Tim Duncan rolled back the years with a 29-point, 10-rebound performance, while Richard Jefferson had 18 points and 10 boards for the Spurs, who have also transformed Tony Parker into a lethal sixth man.  Parker came off the bench with 20 points and seven assists, but George Hill was a -12 on the night despite his 14 points, and he fouled out.  Also, Manu Ginobili was just 2-of-8 from the field for 11 points, although he did add 11 assists as well.

The Spurs are 6.5-point favorites at home if you’re looking for a book to use your betting system since they have beaten the Suns in five of their last six meetings in San Antonio, including all three in their last playoff meeting back in 2008.  The Suns won two of three in Portland in the first round, but the Trailblazers had an injured star in Brandon Roy.  San Antonio will be a whole different ball game for the Suns, as the crowd will be all over the hated Suns from the beginning.  The Spurs were 29-12 at home during the regular season, and they won all three of their games at the AT&T Center against Dallas in their first-round upset.  Like Richardson with the Suns, the Spurs usually play well and win when Jefferson plays well, and if he plays the way he did in Game 2, the Spurs should be able to pull out a win on their home court.  They may not beat the 6.5-point spread, but San Antonio should take an online betting win, straight up.
