Big East Tournament 2010

The Big East Tournament 2010 is set to start tomorrow at the famed Madison Square Gardens in New York City. This year the tournament will feature all 16 teams in the Big East Conference. The bracket has been released and the first day of play will feature seeds 9 through 16 playing. The first day of games is Tuesday March 9th with the following matchups:

Game 1: No. 9 South Florida vs. No. 16 DePaul at 12:00 pm ET
Game 2: No. 12 Connecticut vs. No. 13 St John’s at 2:00 pm ET
Game 3: No. 10 Seton Hall vs. No. 15 Providence at 7:00pm ET
Game 4: No. 11 Cincinnati vs. No. 14 Rutgers at 9:00 pm ET

The Big East Tournament 2010 is sure to have some great games. The winner of the Big East Tournament gets an automatic entrance into the NCAA Tournament. Last year’s winner Louisville ended up being seeded 1st in the tournament, and made it to the quarterfinals. Look for the Big East to have multiple teams in the NCAA tournament.

Unlike many of the other conference games all of the Big East Tournament 2010 games will be televised. ESPN and ESPN2 will be carrying all of the 11 games in high definition. If you remember last year’s tournament the game between the Connecticut Huskies and the Syracuse Orangemen went  into an astonishing six overtimes before we had a winner. Let’s hope this year we have some games that are just as memorable.
