2010 Big East Tournament Schedule

The 2010 Big East Tournament is set to take place from March 9th-13th at Madison Square Gardens in New York City. The NCAA Tournament selection is set for next Sunday so teams are looking for key wins at the Big East Tournament. Some strong competitors to look for are Syracuse, Villanova and West Virginia. The tournament matchups are still being set based on outcomes of games leading up to the tournament.

This year the 2010 Big East Tournament will feature all 16 Big East basketball programs; this is a first for the tournament. There is a bracket type schedule set up with seeds 9-16 playing in the first round. The top four seeded teams move directly to the quarterfinals, while seeds five through eight start their play in the second round. The championship game will be played on March 13th.

Big East teams have captured 10 NCAA Championships and have had 40 Final Four appearances. The winner of the tournament automatically enters the NCAA tournament set to take place from March 16th to April 5th. The Final Four and Championship games will be played at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis; the same location the NFL Combine took place last week. Look for the 2010 Big East Tournament to be full of some tough battles between great teams.
