Milwaukee Brewers -141 at 5DIMES |
> 11h. |
| With a day off on Wednesday in MLB we look to get back on a hot streak as we are still up big on the season. Thursday we have a total of nine pitchers with ERA's under 3.00 over their last three starts combined and a total of five pitchers with ERA's over 6.00 over their last three combined starts. There was one match up that stuck out and we marked them down as our POD. Mark the Brewers Down! ( -140 2.5* FREE PLAY ) For whatever reason Shaun Marcum has loved to pitch on the road as he has an ERA of 3.20 over the last three years on the road. That's much better than his home record and he's back at it again with a 2.77 ERA this year. He's been great of late posting a 1.80 ERA, but the Brewers lost 2 of 3. He should be motivated to keep that up so he can get a W and the Astros are the team to do it against. He's got a 1.80 ERA over 3 starts vs. the Astros who carry just a .637 OPS in 73 AB vs. Marcum. A few weeks ago I'd be on the Astros, but they are starting to come back to earth as they are now 24th with a .686 OPS vs. RHP while the Brewers are 8th with a .737 OPS vs. LHP. The Brewers are 8th and they face J.A. Happ who they have dominated. Happ and the Astros are 10-30 in their last 40 with Happ on the mound. He's really not the player they thought he'd be when they traded Roy Oswalt for him. Happ has a 5.40 ERA at home right now and the Brewers have a 1.139 OPS over 80 AB in their careers vs. Happ who carries a 6.08 ERA over the last three years vs. the Brewers. Brewers are 18-7 in their last 25 after Wednesday's loss to the Astros and are 47-17 in their last 64 vs. a losing team. Mark down the Brewers as a victory for Thursday. Notable Hot Starters: R.A. Dickey (2-1, 1.15 WHIP, 2.70 ERA) Matt Cain (2-1, 0.90 WHIP, 2.14 ERA) James McDonals (2-1, 1.05 WHIP, 2.05 ERA) Brandon Beachy (2-1, 0.93 WHIP, 2.33 ERA) Edinson Volquez (3-0, 1.20 WHIP, 1.47 ERA) Doug Fister (1-2, 0.90 WHIP, 0.54 ERA) Brandon McCarthy (3-0, 0.97 WHIP, 1.31 EAR) Chris Sale (1-2, 1.00 WHIP, 2.84 ERA) Cold Starter Of The Day: On Thursday we have an ice cold starter that makes for an interesting match up in Luke Hochevar of the Royals. First of the Royals have been red hot since their cold start and Hochevar needs to get with the program. Against the Orioles he could do just that as he has great numbers vs. them in 96 combined at bats the Orioles have a .198 average and .590 OPS. Notable Cold Starters: J.A. Happ (1-2, 1.59 WHIP, 7.16 ERA) Matt Moore (1-2, 1.86 WHIP, 6.43 ERA) Matt Harrison (1-2, 1.41 WHIP, 8.27 ERA) Chris Volstad (0-3, 1.71 WHIP, 7.94 ERA) |

Lakers vs Kings Picks, Predictions & Odds
The Los Angeles Lakers have gone several games lately without an injured Kobe Bryant. They will now go into the playoffs without another starter, one who has been their best wing defender. The Sacramento Kings seem to have secured a new stadium deal in downtown Sacramento, and the future looks bright – though it likely will need more wins to fill the new arena in a couple of years. The longtime Pacific Division rivals will close the regular season Thursday night when the Lakers visit the Kings. Here’s a look at what to expect from each team, plus my final score prediction to help you make your NBA picks for tonight. Los Angeles Lakers (41-24) @ Sacramento Kings (21-44), 10:30 p.m. ET The Lakers are hobbling to the finish line this season. After a four-game win streak, the team has...

The Golden State Warriors were being competitive in the Pacific Division for a while under first-year-anywhere head coach Mark Jackson, but their true colors have seemed to come out since the All-Star break. The defending NBA champion Dallas Mavericks are fighting for a chance to defend their title, needed a couple more wins and a couple losses by other teams to secure that spot in the postseason. However, two teams that are featured in one of the great playoff upsets in NBA history will take to the floor Friday night when the Warriors visit the Mavericks. These teams split their first two meetings, both in Oakland, and the Warriors scoring more than 100 points in both games. Here is a look at what to expect from both teams, plus my final score prediction to help with your NBA picks tonight. Golden...

The Phoenix Suns are one of the better teams in the NBA since the all-star break, and have roared into contention for a playoff spot out West. The Denver Nuggets are one of the teams in the Suns’ sights, as they currently hold the No. 8 playoff position – by a single game over the Suns. And Friday’s matchup in Denver will be hugely important for another reason – Denver won the first meeting between these teams, and a win Friday will give Denver the tiebreaker if the two teams tie at the finish line. Here’s a look at tonight’s matchup, plus a final score prediction to help you make your NBA picks for tonight. Phoenix Suns (28-26) @ Denver Nuggets (29-25), 9 p.m. ET The Suns have won three straight games and five of seven following a dramatic 107-105 win at Utah...

The Portland Trail Blazers went though some chaos earlier this month and scuttled in the immediate wake. Now, though, the team still is hanging on the edge of the playoff chase in the Western Conference, but has almost run out of room for error. The Los Angeles Clippers were on an apparent road to implosion a little more than a week ago, but they are now riding a three-game win streak and have kept themselves ensconced in the No. 4 playoff slot in the West. A playoff atmosphere is likely to ensue in Tinseltown Friday night when the Clippers play host to the Trail Blazers. A win for L.A. will clinch the season series, as the Clippers won two of the first three meetings – including a 74-71 win in Portland in their last meeting. Here’s a look at what to expect from both teams, plus my...

The Denver Nuggets are neck-deep in a push for the playoffs, mainly because of some recent mediocrity and inconsistency. The Utah Jazz is surging to keep itself in the playoff chase, and is actually one of several teams breathing down Denver’s neck for the No. 7 spot. In a game that likely will have large playoff implications for both teams, the Nuggets will visit Salt Lake City Friday night to take on the now-hot Jazz. These teams split the first two meetings this season, with both of those games in Denver. Here’s a look at what to expect from both teams to help you make your NBA picks tonight. Denver Nuggets (26-21) @ Utah Jazz (25-22), 10:30 p.m. ET The Nuggets haven’t been able to separate themselves from those chasing a playoff spot because they’ve been struggling...
